MonoDroid is a development stack for using C# and core .NET APIs to develop Android-based applications.
MonoDroid is an implementation of the Mono Framework and was at the closed beta but in the beginning of 2011 it became in the open beta
MonoDroid is a part of Novell’s product line like MonoTouch (development stack allows developers to create C# and .NET based applications that run on Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices) or Mono Framework. The licensing will be on commercial basic similar to MonoTouch.
MonoDroid official website has all necessary information how to install MonoDroid, develop simple apps, debug it, and use APIs. There are several tutorials and instructions, for example how to use MonoDroid in Visual Studio 2010.
